Development for The Lightning Thief began when author Rick Riordan made up stories for his son Haley, who had been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia. His son had been studying Greek mythology in second grade and asked that his father come up with bedtime stories based on Greek myths. Riordan had been a Greek mythology teacher in middle school for many years and was able to remember enough stories to please his son. Soon Riordan ran out of myths and his son requested that Riordan make new ones using the characters from Greek myths with a new twist. Riordan created the fictional character Percy Jackson and his travels across the United States to recover Zeus' lightning bolt. In his new story, Riordan made ADHD and dyslexia part of a demigod's powers - respectively, heightened battle reflexes and a brain wired to read ancient Greek rather than English. After Riordan finished telling the story his son asked that his dad write a book based on Percy's adventures, and he did.

the lightning thief book ebook 20
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a series of fantasy books that get inspiration from Greek mythology. The first book of the series is called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Troublemaker Percy Jackson has problems at school, but that's the least he should worry about. Although we are in the 21st century, the Gods of Olympus seem to have sprung from the books of mythology in real life. Percy learns that his real father is Poseidon, the god of the sea, which means that Percy is a demigod. At the same time, Ζeus accuses Percy of stealing his lightning, which is a weapon of mass destruction. A shocking adventure, which hides countless dangers, begins for Percy! Are you ready to join?
I don't understand why you guys are changing Percy and Annabeth's birth year to 1992 again and again! It is 1993. The lightning thief incident was at june 2006 when Percy was at age 12, later that year at August he turned 13. In June 2007 during the sea of monsters he was 13, and December 2007 during the Titan's curse he was 14. June 2008 at the battle of labyrinth he was 14 and in the last chapter of that book it was August and he had his 15th birthday. In the last Olympian, which was at August 2009, he turned 16 and completed the great prophecy. At December 2009 he went lost. From son of Neptune to blood of Olympus, which was during June to early August 2010 he was mentioned as 16 year old. Annabeth turned 17 at July that year Percy was a month away from his 17th birthday. Throughout the whole Heroes of Olympus series Jason was mentioned a year younger than Annabeth , It was mentioned in Mark of Athena- Jason having his 16th birthday. Thalia was 9 years old when Jason was just 2. Which means Thalia was born in 22 December 1987. Now don't mess up again, telling me that when Thalia turned into tree she was 12 and Annabeh was 7. But that's because Thalia's birthday's at December, that incident was during the late summer or fall that year which's surely 2000. Annabeth and Luke turned 7 and 14 that year, and Thalia was about to turn 13 that December. Is it clear to you now guys?
The lightning thief book was published in 2005 doesn't mean the event of the book was also in 2005! You guys calculations are correct, so is mine. But yours' is getting conflicted with the heroes of Olympus timeline. Jason and Frank are a year younger than Percy and Annabeth , (clearly mentioned in the books). If so than how can they be born at 1995 and Percy and Annabeth at 1992?! This is ridiculous! I corrected them to 1994 and 1993. And you guys are messing it up again! Every other website in the net states that Percy was born in 18th August 1993, so was our site. But now you're saying otherwise only because you're insisting on the lightning thief event was on 2005 and not 2006!
Percy Jackson's father, Poseidon god of the sea, has been accused of stealing Zeus' lightning bold. Certain that his father is innocent, Percy seeks the help of friends old and new to help him catch the thief. On their quest around the United States, Percy must face hordes of creatures bent on stopping him. Oh! And he also has to deal with the Oracle's prophecy that warns of the betrayal of a friend.

The words of sweet Shakespeare were just passing through my mind as the clock struck midnight from the tower of the church in which he lies buried. There was a gentle tap at the door, and a pretty chambermaid, putting in her smiling face, inquired, with a hesitating air, whether I had rung. I understood it as a modest hint that it was time to retire. My dream of absolute dominion was at an end; so abdicating my throne, like a prudent potentate, to avoid being deposed, and putting the Stratford Guidebook under my arm as a pillow companion, I went to bed, and dreamt all night of Shakespeare, the jubilee, and David Garrick.
